INEXORABLE AND UNAVOIDABLE TRUTH- A COMMON MAN SUFFERS DURING WAR!

War? What comes to your mind? Atrocities? Killings? Death? Soldiers? Many more. A war socially, economically, politically, environmentally, psychologically destroys a country, Everyone usually imagines soldiers fighting, when they think of war. But there is a lot unnoticed. Deaths! The death toll encompasses a huge mass of people. Lives of numerous individuals put together as dead. Each life must have got a family and a story. So a death of a man is nothing but the collapse of his family leaving them aimless. But there are different dimensions of war which I researched would literally exhaust people and life of a country.

Economically, a country has to be rich to survive the after effects of the war. It has to invest in the weapons and technology. It needs rangers on the battlefield. It has to accept a war at the stake of many lives. The industries fall due to the destruction. The enemies usually aim at the electricity and petrol gases destroying the sources and making the opponent worse during and after the war. It is not about two countries as opponents we talk about but millions of people. With no electricity, a household cannot run. Cooking becomes the most impossible task. Fuel destruction affects the travelling leading to inactive movement of people to different places. It, ultimately becomes difficult for them to go for jobs. Thus the unemployment increases and industrial growth faces recession and depression. As unemployment increases, people need money. So, they withdraw all their savings and utilise money in proper proportions with a long term planning. Thus the banking sector stales. An individual cannot survive upto his level with no employment. A household fails with no basic amenities. Agriculture plunges badly due to environmental degradation and scarce fuel availability for the machinery to sow seeds and harvest. An agriculture dependent country immerses when the agriculture itself is at stake.

On the other side, the resources will become scarce thus inflating the prices. Increase in prices needs more money mobilisation in the market. With no money, no electricity, no investments, no industrial boom, no energy resources nor any resources, the country dooms sharply. This leads to economic crisis due to war. There might be aid from foreign financial institutions which raises our foreign debt. A foreign debt cannot serve us throughout the war period and we have to repay it as quickly as possible. Another important aspect to be considered is the financing through rise of taxes. Thus it burdens the people already in crisis of money. So economically, a war destroys us as a country and as an individual. But there is surge in employment rate by the way of military, nurses, doctors, cooks, servants etc.

Politically, there would be instability as the opposition seeks explanation for every decline of the economy. The ruling party would be under pressure and it is to be answerable to the people, military and the foreign aiding institutions. The ruling party should try balancing the situation among the three and convince them for surge in the economy with its plans and negotiations to end the war. So, politically, there is a big turmoil on the backs of the rulers. A common man loses the trust in politicians in such situations and might go with the hartals and strikes, adding to more economic pressure. The police will be performing their duty by imposing curfews and cease the additional riots internally within the countries. The administrators carve out proper negotiation plans with the companies to provide the people with basic amenities for survival. The government works its best in such times to gain the trust from the people.

Socially, there are many things to be considered. The communication lines fail in first place. Every person living with basic amenities should feel blessed as there are millions who are out of reach of them and are on the way for death. Of course, luxury remains out of the box until the war ends. Rapes which are not very uncommon ruined every girl. "No one was safe from the rebels or soldiers, and rape was common. At first they started with young girls. Then we started hiding these young girls, disguising them using old women’s clothes, but once they knew we were using that tactic they started raping everybody." This was stated by a woman affected by continuous sedition by army.

The refugees problem hike. People's lives and daily existence come under threat. It would be difficult to find jobs or live our normal day-to-day existence. Populations are displaced and have to constantly move about for security. Children education will be at stake resulting in the fall of literacy rate. A common man cannot afford during emergency times so much to send their children to study, but they would send them for war works if any for earnings and survival. This increases the poverty level beyond our estimation. Infrastructure is at loss.  This explains a suffering of common man in brief. Thus a common man sacrifices his life behind the screen same as the rangers in the batltefield, for our country!
