A TRAGEDY CONTINUED

Mahendra varma, the village head, a person known for his righteousness is considered a family member by the villagers. Raja and varma exchange their views on a particular development for the village and then implement it. Not only officially, but personally they can be called good friends. Raja, when he got to know about the illicit dam construction material, he informed the village head to enforce an action against it. But varma could not help it as the higher officials threatened him off job if involved in something against them. He conveys the same to raja and apologises. Raja overwhelms with rage and keep thinking of the irresponsibility of the current politicians lack in greed for money. He was dissappointed. He thought he would do his part to get the scam into limelight. He with his staff organised a strike forming into a trade union and involved the public. Varma and Charan helps him with his arrangements but the people were so uneducated that they could not understand most of the issue. The villagers, after a day discontinued the strike as it left them starving. Raja became impatient calling for the press meet in Paidipaka when he goes missing. The police enforcement tried to track him but failed. They tried on for a while until there was someone pushing them and reminding them that someone was missing! Gradually, people forgot about Raja and the dam construction began and one fine day the construction is complete.

AFTER ONE YEAR:
An year long benefits from the dam served the arid and the upland regions. As expected, the people of approx 300 villages were evacuated and provided rehabilitation in some town 100 kms away. Varma, in the balcony of a big bungalow was seen sipping a cup of tea. Charan left to Dallas for the commencement of his new business. A swirl of wind encompasses the south India due to the monsoon hit in June. Soon began heavy rains which fulfilled the farmers wishes while ate the lives of many gulping their homes. The barrier on godavari, starts losing its strength to hold the increasing amount of water and silt in the reservoir in addition to few cracks observed by the irrigation department in July end. Everyone maintained the matter confidential. The monsoon which was a wish of the farmer in the march of the same year had become an unendurable and irresistant by the farmers. There was much loss of crops and infrastructure debris left over by the end of monsoon. The disaster is yet to come. The dam is broken into pieces and the water swept away 100s of villages nearby in the form of floods. The internal seepage remained unchecked which led to the disaster to cause extravagant damage leading to the deaths of 1000s of innocent people. That day was recognised to be the disaster day in the human history. Such was the deplorable grievance among the families of dead people recognised by entire India. Whose fault was it? Is it a natural disaster? What about the mournful deaths of those thousands? The investigation begins.

AFTER THE DISASTER:
Raja was in the nallamalla forests kidnapped by naxalites. He is tied up and is in a dark room where he finds nobody. Everyday he opens his eyes, inhale the dark oxygen, eat some food on the plate, think of the mystery and fall asleep. It has been his routine for one long year without noticing one person. That day he acquires all the strength in him and tries to escape. He did not understand why he was here. No demands. No torture. So That night he runs away far from the forests fighting with few of the naxals, indeed murdering them. The forest was lighting the whole night with the gun firing. At last, he escaped his dark life. He did not know where he was standing, what the soil smelled like, No hint of natural resources. He was worried. The beasts behind hunting and he does not sense his home ahead. He kept running the whole night and fell asleep for few hours at some farmers house that night. Finally he finds out that he was 400 kms away from his village. He travelled in a truck for almost 10 hours stopping in between for refreshments and then reached Paidipaka. He see water but no land. A vivid dam broken and people weeping in pain. He could not believe it happened. His birth place was no more a soil and has become a graveyard. It was just after a day of disaster, he stepped in there. All the NDRF forces were busily saving the people, hospitalising them and clearing the debris. The authority was all given to the district magistrate who was guiding NDRF and NGOs to rehabilitate the affected people. Helicopters were alloted in order to provide food and water to the affected areas. He knew the future of the dam, but could not help that not happening. He stood there watching people, broken, shedding tears. Then he remembered his village people, his family. Immediately he inquired about them and headed to the town. He found Varma in his bungalow enticing women. There he understood the whole play. It was him who was friends with naxals and asked them to kidnap him. He immediately went to meet his wife and daughter. They were no more. They were killed. His wife did not let Varma do his job sanely. Knowing everything shook  Raja to his nerves. He bought a gun and immediately leaves to bungalow. There he finds another person laughing and enticing women, it was none other than Charan. His heart broke. He collapsed but his grudge grew. He shouted at them and immediately started shooting. They were astonished to have him in their front. With instinct both of them pulled out the guns from their trousers belt rest and started shooting. Raja started running and reached balcony. He knows he was dying. But he wanted something from his death which he could not attain from living. He took a paper and pen, started writing and a bullet pierced him. They did nt want to kill him but make him understand the value of money over human life. Raja wrote few words on the paper and jumped down the building with the paper. People gathered immediately. A man read the three words and looked upstairs. It was Varma and Charan in shock looking at the dead body of Raja. " They are responsible for my death and they need to be life long imprisoned" were his last words in writing.
